This course provides an introduction to matrix methods and linear algebra for Euclidean spaces, with a particular focus on two-dimensional and three-dimensional Euclidean spaces. Topics include matrices, systems of linear equations, determinants, Gaussian elimination, vector spaces, linear independence and bases, linear transformations, orthogonality, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and singular value decomposition. The course examines selected applications. Not open to students who are enrolled in or have completed MTH 4100.
