Description
This course aims to provide students with an understanding of pressing environmental sustainability challenges from the perspective of managers in businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations. Students will: (i) learn about environmental grand challenges that impact the sustainability of natural and human ecosystems; (ii) understand the 2030 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals; and (iii) acquire knowledge about the tools available to help mitigate environmental challenges and make contemporary organizations good environmental stewards. We will explore the economic, social, and cultural implications of climate change and other environmental issues such as pollution, resource scarcity, and biodiversity loss, and will scrutinize how organizations can also promote the sustainability of the earth’s ecosystems through circular economy, innovation, political action, and voluntary self regulation
