Description

This course studies the importance and contributions of the Latin American Short Story as one of the most universal genres during the 20th and 21st centuries. Attention is given to themes and techniques as well as to literary theory. Special emphasis is given to the genre’s most eminent: Horacio Quiroga, Jorge Luis Borges, Juan Rulfo, Gabriel García Márquez, Julio Cortázar, Isabel Allende, Rosario Ferré, Cristina Peri Rossi and Roberto Bolaño, among others.
