Description
The nature and function of attention and perception as psychological processes are critically examined. Theories of attention are covered as well as the following major topics: perception of constancies and illusions; inborn and learned influences; development of perception; arousal and restriction of attention; intentional and perceptual factors in advertising; perception of simple and complex objects, including person perception; sensory processes in human and non-human species; and physiological bases at attention. Demonstrations of selected perceptual and intentional phenomena are conducted in class.
