Description
This course familiarizes students with computers. Through lectures on the use and the potential for abuse of the computer and through hands-on experience leading to the use of software packages for microcomputers, students come to understand the powers and limitations of computers.The goals of the course are to enable students to participate in a society in which computer usage is becoming prevalent and to evaluate issues relevant to a citizen in such a society. (Open to students in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences only. Not open to students who have completed LIB 3010 [2010], MTH 3300, or STA [CIS] 1357 or 2200 or 2357).
