This team-taught course explores the relationship between undergraduate work in liberal arts/mathematics and the decisions students will make as elementary school teachers. Presentation of motivating topics and hands-on activities that engage children's interests as well as interdisciplinary connections are kept in sharp focus. Students explore the development of children's mathematical thinking and thought processes and demonstrate their understanding by developing a unit of study. Open only to candidates for a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.
