This course examines topics related to Chinese studies. Topics vary from semester to semester, and students may enroll in CHI 4999 more than once if the topic is different. Both the instructional language and reading materials will be in Mandarin Chinese. Possible topics include, but, not limited to, Tang Poetry, Classical Chinese Novels, Chinese Language and Calligraphy, Philosophical Traditions of China, Chinese Buddhism, and Religious Taoism.
