Description
This upper-level course seeks to develop pragmatic and action-oriented general management skills that integrate across functional areas of the organization. This course exposes students to key theories in strategic management and develops their critical thinking capabilities by applying these theories to real business situations. Students will learn frameworks and analytical tools to support managerial decision-making, strategic planning, and strategy implementation from a stakeholder approach to create and sustain competitive advantages. This course will rely on several techniques including case-based discussions. Course topics include, but are not limited to, analyses of the external and internal environments; development of competitive, corporate (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, alliances, divestitures), and international strategies; and strategic leadership.
