Description
How do we search for life on other planets, when the only example of life we have is on Earth? In this course we will explore the chemical, visual, and physical signatures that indicate something is “alive” on Earth, to understand how scientists look for these signatures on other planets. In the laboratory component, students will analyze chemical, visual and data-based biosignatures. Students will receive credit for BIO 3062, ENV 3062, or PHY 3062. These courses may substitute for each other in the F-replacement option.
