This course examines the recent literature on contemporary migration processes and international migration flows throughout the Americas. The course focuses on understanding the causes of migration, the migration process, the dynamics of adaptation and incorporation into receiving societies, and connections between migrant communities and countries of origin. The course will also examine the historical development and the nature of the main debates on migration policy throughout the Americas.
