This course gives students a general view of the developmentof political parties in Puerto Rico from the time ofself-government under Spanish sovereignty to the present.It examines the political setting in which those partiesemerged. A comparative study of different party systems(Latin American countries, the U.S., and England) and thePuerto Rican experience will also be considered.
