Description
This course is an advanced directed study for majors, to be taken after the completion of 15 credits of philosophy courses at the 3000-level, or by department permission. The course involves thorough study of a selected philosophical problem or work under the direct supervision of a single full-time faculty member. The student will be trained in some of the essential methods of research and writing in professional philosophy, and the course will culminate in the composition of a research paper evaluated by three full-time faculty members of the philosophy department. The course will be graded on a pass/fail basis.
