Description
The course covers the basic elements of music (staff notation, rhythm and meter, scales, keys, clefs, intervals, and chord construction) and introduces the techniques of Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze. Students learn basic keyboard technique, including melodies and chords, and explore rhythm and improvisation. No prior knowledge of music is required. Computer-assisted instruction is a vailable in the piano laboratory.
