Description
This course explores queer lives, cultures, and histories as represented by literary authors, filmmakers, and theoreticians. By studying the artifacts and textsabout or attesting to the survival of queer people, we will come to understand what has given form to the contemporary mainstream gay rights movement and subsequent developments, including the so-called transgender tipping point. The approach of this course is intersectional, taking into account constructions of class, gender, and race as they relate to LGBTQIA identities.
